about

Some notes of explanation,

For a long time before I discovered synthesis my understanding of timbre was limited to the instruments I had at my disposal to compose for, whether it was playing in bands or writing chamber music.

Synthesis however allows you to drastically change the timbre of a sound over time, basically shaping a sound in a way that most acoustic instruments can't.

I find it both calming and fun to explore the idea that a fairly limited amount of notes played by a limited number of instruments can continue over an extended period of time to still remain engaging and exciting.

Hope you enjoy!

These will all be free for the time being, just something to listen and zone out/think/meditate/write to.

Gear used:

Moog Matrirah
Moog DFAM
Various Make Noise, Muteable instruments, Intellijel and ALM Busy Circuits Modules
Strymon El Capistan

Recorded into and mixed and mastered in Ableton Suite 10
